About Me

Michael Smith is a freelance editor, teacher, & fiction writer. He’s a graduate of The Stonecoast MFA Program at the University of Southern Maine and holds Bachelors’ degrees from The Ohio State University. Michael has recently completed a short story collection, “Your Former Ex-Lover,” and is hard at work on a nonfiction project as well as his first novel. His recent fiction has appeared in The Portland Review & Specter Magazine. He has worked with several literary magazines and presses in the past, including Pearson-Longman, McGraw-Hill, Penguin, StoryQuarterly, Other Voices, The Journal, and New Rivers Press. By way of Cleveland, Columbus, Boston, and Chicago, Michael now resides in Boulder, Colorado with his wife Ashley, son Charlie, and their English Bulldog, Beckett.
